The Real Truth about AK (just watch the video): The problem is it's not casual friendly anymore, and while you COULD merely go through the base story and play solo and casually, ignoring all of the other elements, why would you? The story is boringly generic, the quests are seriously outdated fetch/kill X amount of enemies quests, and the combat/gameplay are. Honestly, this seems to be the fate of many free to play games as a service. ![]() Even at its peak there were HUGE issues, which is the biggest problem with the game today rather than fix them back then and become a flawed but good casual MMORPG, it turned into an excessive gacha, probably signifying X-Legends main goal all along which is to make effortless money off of whales with gambling additions rather than make a good game. The game peaked many years ago (I'd say shortly after release, so around 2015) and then was slowly downhill ever since. I'm pretty sure it's mostly less informed spenders these days because you don't NEED to know anything anymore just spend your way through it all. Back then, there was a really helpful and informative part of the community, making guides, explaining the workings of the game, and helping others, and most of the general player base was casual and friendly. ![]() I think they merged the remaining servers into one which would signify how active it is, but to be fair, it's like six or seven years old now.Īura Kingdom's community itself was pretty great when I still played, but I don't know about these days. when the game was still new and more casual, it was very active for a couple of years, then harshly dropped off. This might even explain the more common complaints of the server being bad these days, because many players might be playing from Europe or Asia, but this is also purely a guess of mine.Īs for how alive it is. Western players rejected this more whereas Eastern players have seen far worse so it was nothing excessive to them. This isn't a fault of the players, mind you (so I'm not blaming Eastern players), but rather it's an observation of why the game may not have remained big like it was when it launched. The Asian time zones seemed more alive when I stopped playing (no idea these days) because the Western markets generally don't accept this type of game as much as the Eastern audience does. The Steam version is of the English version/NA server, and if you are expecting an NA server to be active in the NA timezone, you'll probably be disappointed. Aeria merely localizes servers for other markets (NA, German, Spanish, and French) of a game that X-Legends (original game is Taiwan) develops, which is actually another thing worth mentioning. The major problems actually have little to do with the server (which actually worked completely fine for me most of the time when I played, but I'm in NA where the server is) and even little to do with Aeria or Gamigo either (though they certainly monetize it harshly). I could go into detail on the mechanics of the game and what's good (not much anymore) and bad with it, but that is the gist of it. You can actually stop reading here if you want. Actual new content got lazier and sparser. Years ago, the game more and more got infused with new "features" that were simply additional systems/layers of gacha mechanics for stats, to the point that the game is now basically a mobile gacha app pretending to be a casual MMORPG. No, because it's not merely a poorly balanced MMORPG anymore that got away with it by being accessible and casual friendly. Bit late on the reply, but as a player who stopped played quite a while back, here's my opinion. ![]()
